-I am an architectural and interior designer. My design firm is called Yilai Yilai Design, which is named after my wife. In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering with and building scale models of master architects' works. In 2019, I founded UNMAR, a line of unmarked assembly model products, driven by my personal interest and pursued during my spare time. Yes, as you might have guessed, UNMAR comes from "UNMARKED."

 ===== What is UNMAR and why? =====
-The reason I adopted unmarked instructions is that, during the process of assembling toys with my son, I found it complicated and frustrating to search for parts by their labels—like A1, A2, B2, C4, and so on. I thought to myself, why can't we just follow the shapes instead? If I can find a part directly by its shape as shown in the instructions, why go through the hassle of looking it up by those numbered labels? So I started experimenting with designing some unmarked wooden toys. In 2026, I registered the trademark for UNMAR and set up a factory—and that's how UNMAR began.
+  * I've found that if I remove the part labels like A1, C6, E3 from model assembly instructions and rely solely on the diagrams to find and successfully assemble the parts, the process becomes quite enjoyable—because it eliminates the tedious hassle of searching for parts by their labels.
+  * If the instruction manual can be designed to minimize part markings as much as possible, I think that's a highly creative approach.

 ===== UNMAR是什么？ =====
-之所以采用无标记的说明书，是因为我和儿子一起拼装玩具的过程中，按标记寻找零件如A1,A2,B2,C4...等感觉到复杂与烦恼。我就想为什么不能按图形呢？我能直接按说明书的形状可以找到零件，为什么要那么复杂的按那些数字标记来寻找零件？
+  * 我发现把模型拼装说明书上的零件标记如A1,C6.E3等去除，仅根据说明书上的图形就能顺利找到零件并且成功组合上，这个过程会感觉到相当有趣，因为免除了在按标记找零件的烦躁过程。
